Send the whole piece and the detail
A photograph of a broken closure is useful, but we also need to see the surrounding fabric and where the piece fits.
Fabric condition comes first
Restitching deteriorated material may leave the underlying problem. The assessment defines what can be retained and what should be replaced.
Closures and attachments
Zippers, snaps and other details are reviewed with the canvas construction. An apparently similar replacement still needs to work with the existing arrangement.
YOUR PROPOSAL
What shapes the scope and price
Remaining fabric strength
Sun-damaged canvas may fail beside a new seam. The surrounding material determines whether repair is worthwhile.
Hardware and fit
Zippers, clear panels and fasteners may need more than stitching. Distorted fit can indicate a larger replacement scope.
What to send with your request
- The entire canvas item and close-ups of the failed area.
- Both sides of the tear, seam, zipper or fastener.
- Whether the canvas still fits and how old it is, if known.

Before we visit
Can you restitch a cover?
We can assess the seams and the condition of the fabric before agreeing restitching.
Can a repaired piece be guaranteed to last a fixed number of years?
A fixed lifespan is not promised here. Condition, use and the agreed work affect the result.
