- Fabricated in our Davie workshop
- Measurements and fitting at your boat
- Scope and materials agreed before work
Start with the seat, not a color swatch
Tell us which seats need work and what you want to keep. A helm seat, cockpit bench and bolster have different shapes and attachment points. We look at the existing construction before agreeing what will be recovered or replaced.

The edge. The seam. The fit.
A good-looking surface is only part of the brief. Show adjoining backs, curved corners and attachments so we can discuss the complete fitted piece, not only a new color.
One seat or a coordinated set
You can request selected pieces or discuss a wider seating update. For a set, we review adjoining cushions and backrests together so the scope covers the visible differences between them.
Material and fit are part of the proposal
Share how the area is used and whether it is exposed or sheltered. Material, filling, seams and attachments are specified for the agreed work. We do not choose an exterior or cabin covering on appearance alone.
DESIGN DETAILS
A cockpit bench: the questions before the recover
For a cockpit bench, assess the covers and filling, map the corner pieces and decide how the backs should meet the seats. If the base is retained, review how each recovered piece will fit the existing construction.
YOUR PROPOSAL
What shapes the scope and price
Pieces and geometry
A shaped helm seat, a long bench and separate bolsters involve different patterning. Include quantities and wide layout photographs.
Cover, filling or both
Recovering an existing surface is different from replacing support or changing the cushion shape. Describe wear and comfort issues separately.
Material and finish
Exposure, texture, color direction, seams and retained upholstery inform the specification. Available choices and any warranties are confirmed in the proposal.
Access and fitting
The berth, boarding arrangements, other work on board and any travel charges affect how the order is organized. Agree the assessment and return fitting.
From the first photo to the final fit

Before we visit
Can you recover a seat without replacing its base?
We assess the base and covering before recommending the scope. If the supporting structure needs other work, that must be addressed as part of the project plan.
Do you make exact copies of the old covering?
We can discuss retaining the existing shape or making agreed changes. Final pieces are made from measurements and templates, not photographs alone.
